Dr Theo’s Qualifications
Dr Christodoulakis started his career in healthy life style when he was 14 years old. On summer vacations while swimming with his friends, he would prepare carrot juices rather than smoke or drink like other teenagers his age. He always appreciated the value of wholesome food, the importance of nutrition to health and the value of regular exercise.
He was influenced by his father and old time Medical Doctor who had values and treated everyone as an individual. Although he was not aware of the structured form of Naturopathic Medicine he knew that drugs in all the forms can be very dangerous.
Pro-Active & Active not Reactive
Prevention is of course the key. Instead of waiting for things to get out of control, it is always better to be Pro-active and Active to a healthier life style instead of Reactive to emergency situations where things can go terribly wrong.

After finishing college and working he discovered the science of Naturopathic Medicine and everything fell into place. He knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He combined the wonders of modern technology in medicine and the wisdom of traditional medicine proven by many cultures over the span of thousands of years.
“Above all, keeping what makes sense and treating everyone as an individual and with respect for their culture”.
“Integrative medicine makes a physician better equipped to take care of their patient”.

QUALITY MEDICINE
There are several virtues that a good physician or a doctor should have.
Listening to the Patient The most important quality a physician can have.
In today’s hectic society doctors have forgotten their interpersonal skills and the teachings of Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine. A physician should be caring and attentive to the patients’ needs. A patient needs a physician who would listen to their particular concerns and assure the individual that they will be taken care of.

Treat the Cause:
Symptoms are “warning signals” that alert us to the malfunction of our body. Anxiety, cough, constipation, headache, pain, rash, and weakness are examples of a symptom not a disease. Treating a symptom should only be a complimentary treatment to relieve the suffering of the patient, and should be done while searching for the cause. Today, even though Physicians have taken the Hippocratic Oath that clearly states “treat the cause not the symptoms”, some choose to suppress the symptoms with a quick acting and powerful medication. A good physician should be a good investigator and along with the patient should try to find the cause of the symptoms.
Treating the Whole Person:
An organ, such as the liver or the kidney, does not work alone but in synchrony with other organs in the body. The body and mind also work in synchrony. A good physician should not treat an organ alone but to consider the whole body, mind and spirit of the patient. Respect the patients’ beliefs and support them if it means a quicker way to recovery.
Medications:
Medications are powerful chemicals that can save lives in cases of emergency. Medications are also extremely dangerous and that is the reason why there is a need for a prescription from the physician. A good doctor should reserve the “meds” as a last resort or in an emergency situation, depending on the patient’s condition.

Dr. Theo’s Scope of Practice
Dr. Theo Christodoulakis’ focus is in Hormone therapy and Anti-aging in both women and men. Dr Theo’s license is in general medicine and takes pride in being a well rounded physician.
Dr. Theo’s strategy in treatment:
1. Treat the whole person as an individual and with respect. “We don’t treat diseases, we treat persons with diseases”
2. Treat the cause while addressing the symptoms. The symptoms are the clues that a physician puts together in order to make the diagnosis. Symptoms are only treated to alleviate the suffering or at life threatening situations. Symptom examples are: Headaches, Fatigue, Fever, Pain, constipation, anemia, etc.
3. Explain the treatment protocol with the patient and illustrate the need for the patient to be pro-active in their own treatment. Doctors assist the patient with their own healing while providing them the best options available.
4. Assessment: A good medical treatment starts with a good medical intake which requires time to assess the person and the condition treated. “Those 5 minutes consultations are only done in TV shows, or physicians that have forgotten or never learned the teachings of Hippocrates, the father of Medicine”. The first visit usually takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. The only thing that a Physician can do in 5 minutes is to mask the symptoms. Diagnosis is paramount in medicine and it might take more than a visit.
5. Options: Dr. Theo provides options that are best for the patient and that means he will refer to other specialist if there is a need. There is no physician that knows everything. It’s the medical system that can help the person. That means a good physician, a caring nurse, a skillful lab tech, a polite receptionist and a compliant patient.
