Hormone Modulating Therapy (HMT)
Women’s Health
|
HMT is more than providing a hormone to a patient. It all starts with a good evaluation that includes a collection of individual symptoms, laboratory analysis and then individual therapy protocols that can include specially made hormones such as natural, bio-identical hormones, transdermal patches or lotions, botanical medicines, life style modifications, etc. By evaluating hormones Dr. Christodoulakis considers the ideal method of laboratory testing and the conversion factors of these hormones, in order to determine the ideal therapy for an individual

Women are not the only people that need hormone therapy. Most men do not like to complain or go to the doctors but they can benefit tremendously by hormone modulating therapy. See men’s health care form for symptoms evaluation.
Happy women and happy men make happy couples.
Hormone Modulating Therapy treats the cause of the problem.
Women need to be in harmony with the natural rhythm of their bodies/cycles. Due to the fast paced environment, these cycles get interrupted and hence their hormones get unbalanced. Many people including women want to continue to be active and look younger. Hormone evaluation and HMT is the way to solve that problem
Many women are seeking natural treatments in order to minimize the unnecessary use of pharmaceuticals and synthetic hormones, and to avoid surgery whenever possible.

Cyclical Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy:
Much evidence has been suggesting that hormone therapy should not only be bio-identical but cyclical in nature the way the body has been producing it. Dr. Theo Christodoulakis has formulated its own protocol, by reviewing many studies. The therapy is individualized and not "static" and can be adjusted to each person's needs.
Call for your health needs and set an appointment with the doctor.
Hormone Evaluation can involve:

The following is a published report that appeared in several newspapers
Natural Hormone Therapy Helping Hundreds Of Local Women Thu Jan 26, 5:40 PM ET http://news.yahoo.com/s/wews/20060126/lo_wews/3220126
A commentary by Dr. Theo Christodoulakis, Naturopathic Physician, on a recent broadcast
on Channel 5
A recent broadcast on a Channel 5 TV station in Cleveland, has brought into the attention of hundreds of women hope for Menopause, hot flashes and PMS. "A more natural approach that is helping hundreds of local women of all ages", reported 5 On Your Side's Alicia Scicolone.
Many women are not aware of natural choices for many of their ailments. Perhaps the overloading of information has many people wondering should they go to their local supplement store and try a vitamin or an herb for their health problems?
Although there are some good herbs commonly used for hot flashes and menopause, the questions arise, how much to take, for how long and which name brand?
In today's information society, there is no reason to be in the dark about the subject of natural hormones, botanical medicine and saliva testing. It is not only about supplementing hormones but rather "balancing" them.
"There are many factors associated with hormonal imbalance and the risks of breast cancer". The declining levels of progesterone, as we grow older, or perhaps the removal of the ovaries during a hysterectomy and xenobiotics in the form of pollutants, pesticides, oral contraceptives, steroid pumped meats and synthetic hormone replacement therapy all contribute to an excess of estrogen in the body, in a condition known as "estrogen dominance." Since estrogen stimulates cell growth, "a predominance of it especially in the absence of adequate levels of progesterone (common in the menopausal years), presents an increased risk of cancer, particularly in the breast". For the sake of not getting too technical for some people, I want to emphasize, it is important and beneficial for many women with symptoms of hot flashes, PMS, depression and anxiety to get tested by a licensed physician familiar in natural hormone therapy and saliva/blood testing in order to prescribe individualized therapies that might include compounded natural hormones or nutraceutical herbal combinations or both.
Natural or Bioidentical hormones are derived from plant compounds to be identical to the hormones naturally produced in the human body. By prescription only, these hormones can be compounded into a cream, a pill or even in a gummy bear! And it is not only women that can benefit from the bio-identical hormones but men also can address many of their andro-pause symptoms, weight gain, nagging, depression, apathy, decrease libido, etc.
In my practice in Chandler I see women (and men too) that I regularly test them for their hormones using both blood and saliva and then treating them with Bio-identical hormones and supplements and the results are remarkable.
Benefits of Natural Hormone Therapy: prevention for osteoporosis and heart attacks, weight loss, reduction of hot flashes, PMS and insomnia, confidence gain, wellness benefits, increase libido and general quality of life.
There is no reason to suffer any more when there are so many treatment options available. A good book that has valuable information on hormone balance is "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer: How Hormone Balance Can Help Save Your Life; by John R. Lee, M.D. and David Zava, PH.D."<BR>
